Plectania campylospora (Black Cup Fungus)

Found at Yeoman's Track on October 10, 2000. Also found at Boundary Stream Reserve on November 11, 2000.
This mushroom is about 1-3cm wide, the widest being when young. At maturity the cup shape expands into a disc.
It grows on a stem which is no higher than about 1cm.
Black inside and out with paler coloured flesh (in cross section). The inside of the cup is smooth while the outer surface is clearly wrinkled.

Edibility: Unknown, too small and leathery to be of value.

Different people react differently to different mushrooms.

NEVER eat a wild mushroom without being 100% sure it is safe to do so.
